In 2011, Warner Video released a direct-to-video adaptation of the modern classic mini-series All Star Superman. Electronics chain Best Buy offered this special edition version that included a premium figure of Superman wearing the protective suit he used to fight Solaris, the tyrant star computer. Here’s a chopped up version of the scene:
This figure has very limited articulation (only at the neck, shoulders and waist) and is fixed to a small base. It stands about 3-3/4″ tall. Though the sculpt doesn’t really look like Frank Quitely’s art from the series, it’s not too far off from what the cartoon was. This is a nice figure of a never-before-released Superman costume… the S-shield in particular is interesting to me because it reminds me a lot of some of the very earliest Superman emblems.
